State Representative Fred Atchley announced that he and State Representative Andy Farmer successfully secured $6.2 million in recurring annual funding for the Sevier County School System during the 114th General Assembly, representing a transformational investment in the educational future of District 12 students.
The recurring nature of this funding—meaning it will continue year after year rather than being a one-time allocation—makes this one of the most significant education victories for Sevier County in recent memory. The investment will provide stable, ongoing resources to improve student outcomes across the district.
"Our children's education is the foundation of their future and our community's prosperity," said Rep. Atchley. "This $6.2 million in recurring funding isn't just about this year—it's about ensuring that Sevier County students have the resources they need to succeed for years to come. Representative Farmer and I fought hard for this funding because our teachers and students deserve our very best support."
Unlike one-time grants or special appropriations, recurring funding provides school systems with the predictability and stability needed for long-term planning and sustainable improvements. This enables Sevier County Schools to make multi-year commitments, resulting in lasting, positive changes.
