NASHVILLE, Tenn. – State Rep. Fred Atchley, R-Sevierville, has been elected by his freshman peers to serve as assistant Republican floor leader for the 114th Tennessee General Assembly.
“I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside Republican leadership as assistant floor leader for the next two years,” Rep. Atchley said. “Thank you to my fellow first-year colleagues for putting their trust in me. I look forward to working together on advancing and protecting Tennessee’s conservative values.”
As assistant floor leader, Atchley will support the Republican Floor Leader Paul Sherell, R-Sparta, with all duties and responsibilities. Atchley has already shown impressive leadership skills, and quickly established trust among his freshman peers,” said House Republican Caucus Chairman Jeremy Faison, R-Cosby. “I know he will be a phenomenal addition to our leadership team. I’m eager to work alongside him and the entire membership as we continue to advance Tennessee’s conservative values."
House Majority Leader William Lamberth, R-Portland, said, “We are fortunate to have a dedicated group of hardworking, talented freshmen for the 114th General Assembly. Rep. Atchley will do an outstanding job serving our caucus. I look forward to seeing the great work he does for his community and our state.”
