SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – State Representative Fred Atchley (R-Sevierville) announced today that he will seek reelection to the Tennessee House of Representatives for House District 12.

"It has been the honor of my life to serve the people of Sevier County in the Tennessee General Assembly," said Rep. Atchley. "We've delivered real results for our community, from securing millions in funding for our schools and infrastructure to supporting our first responders and protecting our constitutional rights. But there's more work to be done, and I'm asking for the opportunity to continue fighting for the families and values of District 12."

Under Rep. Atchley's leadership, District 12 has secured $32 million for Newport Highway improvement and $6.2 million in recurring funding to the Sevier County School System. He supported $20 million statewide for Volunteer Fire Department grants and secured $500,000 for the East Tennessee Epilepsy Foundation.

One of Rep. Atchley's signature achievements was the passage of HB0482, which established a cancer presumption for firefighters covering prostate, breast, and pancreatic cancers. He has also championed tourism and economic development initiatives that support Sevier County's thriving economy.

As a former Battalion Chief with the Sevierville Fire Department, Rep. Atchley brings firsthand public safety experience to Nashville. "My background as a firefighter taught me the importance of service, teamwork, and putting others first," Rep. Atchley said. "Those same principles guide my work in the General Assembly. I don't forget where I come from or who I work for, the hardworking people of Sevier County."

During the 114th General Assembly, Rep. Atchley supported education reforms, public safety enhancements, and infrastructure investments while consistently voting to protect Second Amendment rights and defend constitutional freedoms.

Looking ahead, Rep. Atchley will continue securing funding for schools, infrastructure, and public safety while supporting economic development and tourism. "Sevier County is a special place with incredible people, natural beauty, and unlimited potential," Rep. Atchley said. "I'm committed to ensuring our community continues to thrive, our families are safe and prosperous, and our values are protected. I humbly ask for your vote and the opportunity to continue serving you in Nashville."

Rep. Atchley and his wife, Angela, reside in Sevierville.
